Why is money so valuable.

Money is just some ink, printed on some paper. Worthless to anything but humans. But you can exchange money for practically anything you desire. Food, drink, accomodation and a whole host of other wants.

The desperately poor man is unhappy because he lacks the basic things. He doesn't have enough food, water and he doesn't have a proper place to stay.

The filthy rich man is unhappy because he lacks the things money can't buy. Like time, love, personal fulfilment, freedom...etc.

Taking into account that we all die and are unable to bring anything with us to wherever we're going....how valuable is money?
