I would like the people i care about to be happy,
I would like to be there when they're hurt
I would like to offer my shoulder for them to lean on
I would like to give a listening ear..
I would like to make things better for them
I would like to see them smile
I would like to walk with these people through life, because i care.

I do all of these because GOD has always been there for me.

More thoughts...

I'm sure many of my friends have heard me say about whether a person's heart is in the right place or not. I can safely say all of my close friends have their hearts in the right place. But i will now provide a definition....about what it means to have your heart in the right place.

Someone whose heart in the right place will always put other people before him or herself. He/She will consider other peoples' feelings before anything else. So in the rising of any unfortunate event. He/she will know they tried to do their best to avoid any major problems. People who have their hearts in the right place will also do things for the right reasons, and hope for gratitute, rather than expect it.

Someone who doesn't have his/her heart in the right place, will always consider his/her own feelings before other people. It's a very selfish attitude because it means you can never give more than you recieve. Blunt people always claim they say what they say because they feel its right. Unknown to them, they can hurt people with what they say, and cause harm to the immediate friendships around them. So if you have something to say, sometimes it's best if you say nothing at all. Your freedom of expression is less important than your bonds of friendship or kinship.

So now I'm going to step on a very very very fine line. I stress that loving is all about giving, rather than recieving. If you keep asking "what about myself?" in the process of declaring your love for someone, then you have got the concepts of love all wrong. Always consider the happiness of your interest.

Feel free to comment..
this is just MY view..
Would like to take the opportunity to thank god for all the great friendships he has given, preserved and blessed.

ENGLAND BEATS CROATIA.

Was at chijmes last nite, watching the match with mish. It was a pretty exciting match, croatia got off to a flying start but England responded beautifully. In fact, it was the best I've ever seen england play in a long time..Too bad they brought on the severly overrated LEDLEY KING.

Let mish drive my car last nite as well, although it may seem like I was participating in some sort of fear factor thingie, it wasn't very scary after all. In fact it was relaxing. Ok, so she's proved she can drive, but my CD changer is still off limits. Was also pretty good we didn't get stopped by police.

I realised this hols have been pretty dead for me, i haven't been out clubbing, ktving or whatever as much as the last hols. But i've been just hanging with closer frens, doing the simple stuff..actually i'm happier..and i've been saving more money..haha

Saving more money for my PROJECT CRX..hur hur hur hur

PORTUGAL WINS

Hmm, what did i do yesterday. Oh yah, i remember now. I met arthur and mish(hotstuff) for soccer yesterday. First met arthur, at liat starbucks. The match was at like 2 plus and i met him at like ten plus...so we just sat around for coffee and accomodated to the hotstuff, ( in other words, we let her sleep ).

So while waiting, we had our usual guys' talk about cars, we even gave each other rides in each others' cars. Looking at the time, 11.45, we finally decided to head down to that tootface's house.

Arthur is quite an aggressive driver, got alot of fire, hahaha. Supposed to drive slowly so that can reach that tootface's house at 12.30, in the end, reach at 12.10. Nabei..Reach already, call her up...what do you think she's doing? For those of you who guessed she was sleeping, you're absolutely correct.

Anyway, went to HV, and realised that they weren't showing soccer there, so we went all the way to chimes, hehehe..super big screen...super shoik..had afew beers. Mish got her wish, portugal won. But ok lah..they deserved to.

Later, sent that tootface home, she change my cd tracks! (my pet peeve) okok nothing else to mention..thats all folks.

AS I WRITE THIS BLOG..

Well, as i write this blog, italy and sweden are drawing 1-1 (as i predicted) and denmark beat bulgaria (as i predicted). Sighz, Mish you gotta try harder..haha..too bad she didn't agree to bet with me or she'd be wearing a man utd jersy in holland V.

I went to a drive around Singapore today, with a good friend of mine, actually I had no idea where we were going, i just kept going straight. We talked about love and life. And she gave me some insightful views on love. Not that we're both experts, haha infact we're both fools in love, but yeah we try to comfort each other.

And the things I found out about love...

1) If you love someone enough, that person can make you cry. So if u've cried over somebody, chances are, you care for him/her deeply.

2) If there are problems in a relationship, address them, don't stay together for OLD TIMES SAKE, its never ending suffering.

3)When you're no longer eager to see your partner, it doesn't mean there are problems, it happens all the time.

4) You can either be rejected or be rejected with dignity, choose, and stop whining.

5) When you give in love, you shouldn't expect anything back. It's all about giving, remember?

Seems i'm writing about love alot, hehe..but pls, i'm not a SNAG!

WHICH CARS WILL SUIT MY FRIENDS

JEREMY LAI- I think he would like either a ford mustang or a corvette, both big muscle cars, all about braun with a hazy sense of direction. Big and fearsome but not particularly agile.

JASON LIM- Jason should drive a toyota corolla, don't frown because there's nothing wrong with a corolla, it suits him, cause he likes to be un-noticed and plus the fact that cars are nothing but transport to him, its also abit stubborn with the steering response..so..yah suits him.

MISH- Mish owns a suzuki swift but I think, she needs something big, maybe like a lexus RX300 or even a RAV 4.Both big and imposing, mish is small lah, but imposing..so i think they suit her. I admit its quite ridiculous to see a small girl driving such a huge thing but they can go faster than she can handle and if *touch wood* anything happens, the car is big and safe.

CHELSEA- A volkswagon beetle, painted red, with black spots, like a ladybird, dun ask me why, i just think so.

EELIS- A mercedes S-class, because politicians love this car, and she's always very politically correct. She may claim she likes supras, but nah..doesn't suit her image, she'll look weird driving one..hur hur hur

MEL GOH- She could own afew, namely, a volkswagon beetle, a toyota echo, a golf or a barina, whatever the car is...it will always be bright pink.

JUS QUEK- A porsche 911 turbo, because he's in it for the status and the car is extremely safe, like him. unfortunately, its expensive..and he's poor..haha

I know this is a very cock post, i'm bored u see

SOMEMORE LESSONS LEARNT IN MY LIFE.

1) Never raise your voice at someone because that person can hear you perfectly when you speak normally. Speaking louder doesn't help.

2) The better man always keeps his fists by his side.

3) If you trust your gf/bf, you wouldn't have any use for jealousy.

4) Energy spent on regret is better used elsewhere.

5) You are entitled to dislike somebody, only if you have a valid reason.

6) People often dispense advice, which they can't even follow themselves.

7) People make mistakes, if you can't forgive, then you are one of those people.

8) A girl usually can sense you like her, even before you tell her, for your smile shows your affection and your eyes give away your thoughts.

9) You always have to let go of the past, before you can move into the future.

10) You don't hear, you listen.

AFEW IMPORTANT LESSONS I'VE LEARNT IN LIFE

1) Its ok to kiss a fool, its ok to let a fool kiss you, but never let a kiss fool you.

2) There is no such thing as stealing someone from his/her relationship, because you cannot steal something that doesn't want to be stolen.

3) Anger is more useful than despair, but forgiveness is still the best.

4) Problems don't go away if you ignore them, but sometimes they don't go away if you address them either.

5) Learn to let go, better to be selfless than selfish.

6) Learn to seperate love from infatuation. A person's looks will be more attractive if you learn how to appriciate what's inside.

7) Reserve bluntness for your close friends, reserve tact for others.

8) Good looking people always get ahead in life, live with it.

9) You are never a fucked up person if you're heart is in the right place.

10) Never say "I love you" if you're not sure, try saying " I enjoy your company."

11) Go to church for the right reasons, if not, don't go at all.

12) One-sided love is very painful, even denial hurts less.

13) Never open your VTEC in the city, because there are police ( sighz )

14) Never tell someone you like them, if you think they're going to avoid you after that.

15) Always consider people before considering yourself.

16) Never spread rumors, if you hate people talking about you.

17) A person who takes other people for granted, will never be a good girlfriend/boyfriend, no matter how nicely he/she treats you.

18) Don't lose hope because everyone that made it, probably failed the first time.

19) People will find you nice, not because of what you do, but why you do it.

20) Life is unfair, take it on the chin or take it in the groin.

MY OWN THOUGHTS

Humans can do things for various reasons, i've narrowed it down to 3, Love, Money and Spite. Obviously, you can do things for money, it buys you houses, it buys you cars and it buys you comfort, as such alot of people can do crazy things for money, but that is understandable.

You can do something for love as well, love is all about sacrifice and giving. Sometimes to have that special someone to hold onto, you can break all barriers you normally wouldn't. You can put aside selfish pride for love, you can give up money for love and you can give yourself for love. I've been there too, in some point of my life, so I understand this perfectly.

Lastly, you can do something out of spite. This seems queer because the only benefit you get out of this, is a deep satisfaction that puts a smirk on your face. It is said that doing something out of spite is more rewarding than doing something for love and money?

TRUE OR FALSE....well, i can understand all three, they all make perfect sense to me. Especially what i've written about spite. I am by no means a petty person and neither do i like to see misfortunte befall other people, but i do like to see people get their just desserts if they deserve it.

Yet..as the years have gone by, i realised that i need to forgive sometimes, as i want to be forgiven too. So I've gone back to my emphasis on love.

I can't say I understand love, because almost everyone will say they won't understand it. No dictionary can adaquately explain love, other than labelling a human emotion that draws two people together.

I'm only 22 years of age, but I'm finally beginning to understand what love is..to an extent. Unfortunately, i can only explain the painful part of it. "Sometimes when you truely love somebody, you need to let that person go".....This is an overused phrase, used in a countless number of cheesy films. I used to think it was crap and it made absolutely no sense, but I'm beginning to understand it now.

Sometimes you know that by letting someone go, that person could be happier elsewhere, rather than by your side, since love is about sacrifice, your own happiness is irrelevant. If you love someone enough, you must learn to let go. And learning how to let someone go, is the hardest thing to do, even harder than loving someone with all your heart....

Feel free to comment on this...CHRIS

FINALLY BACK IN SUNNY SINGAPORE

Its really warm back home, and suddenly there seem to be so many cars on the road, quite scary. Got home and started talking to my cats and switched on the TV, *gasp* ESPN!!! Had teh bing for the first time since i left s'pore.

Before leaving, had some nice heart warming msgs from the ppl in perth. Haha was really nice of them. Had a relaxing flight with plenty of movies..was really an enjoyable flight. Dinner was sucky though

Test drove my dad's new car, the mazda MX-5. It was an experience, Í was surprised he let me drive it so soon. Hmm cause it is a new car, the throttle response wasn't very good, infact, was rather sluggish. But it was the first time i drove a top down car in s'pore. Really relish more opportunities to get used to the car.

Overall, it feels good to be home. DOesn't feel as exhilarating as the last time i was back, but still good. Home is where the heart is. If i can avoid all the blardy friends politics here..even better...

MY TOP TEN CARS OF ALL TIME

Countdown list

10) Lamborghini diablo - It combines strong lines with a furious name, undoubtedly THE eye-turner. However, crammed interior and little boot space

9) BMW M3 and M5 - The amount of horsepower they squeeze out of the M3's straight-six is unbelievable, the M5 is phenomenally fast for a car this size. Both handle like a joy ( Never driven them, but car mags say so ) On top of that, they both have back seats, practical, joy to drive, look good and faster than fast enough. Still on the pricey side though.

8) Toyota Supra - I couldn't leave this car out, its brilliant. (abit too common in perth). It's appeal is amazingly endearing, girls love it and movies feature it ( fast and furious and 2 fast 2 furious ) I'm talking about the turbo version though. I don't think anyone is stupid enuff to drive an N/A version. Rare like hell in s'pore. With the proper mods, quick as hell. Not THAT expensive as well. On the downside, i think the interior is positioned TOO Much to the driver.

7) Mazda RX-7 - The reason the world took notice of the rotary engine. 3 rotaries spinning with a turbo-charger in this car is enough for it to set the road on fire. On the track, (watched some videos) its amazingly quick and it looks great. Problem though is that rotary engines are bad at fuel economy, its also hard to find a mechanic who can deal with them properly

6) Toyota Camry - I know, its the most boring car in the world, barring the corolla. BUT, it is the best practical car money can buy. It's spacious, the interior isn't all that bad, its got good fuel economy and there's a toyotal dealer ard every corner..ez to get repaired too.

5) Honda S2000 - I have a soft spot for vtec engines. Frankly, i think this car looks great, esp in black. It revs up to 9000rpm, screaming once it reaches the vtec range and has an electric roof. Plus vtecs are fuel economical, unless u blow the vtec everyday. But its so efficient, you can cruise and just get from here to there..or u can drop a gear and instantly you've got power. Certainly more efficient than almost any other engine i know. Problem is, like all vtecs, its weak off the line.

4) Nissan Skyline GTR34 - This is almost every teenager's dream car. Its big, its fast, it looks good, it sounds great and its equipped with tons of gadgets. This car is so cool. 4WD makes it safe too! I think seriously, unless you are filty rich, this is the fiercest car you can see on the road (although i don't consider it cheap either). The turbos are done by garret and it has brutal acceleration. Problem is, it may be sleeker than the R33, but its still not that sleek.

3) BMW Z4 - Ok i might get mauled for this but i think this car looks great. Girls will tell you all the time that the z3 looks nicer, but the z3 is a sissy car, handles badly and is underpowered. The first thing you need to do when u see this car is shut up and listen, that 3litre V6 engine sounds great..it has an electric roof and its a BMW, enough said. It would be higher up the list but frankly, the price puts me off, plus the ride is abit rough.

2) WRX IMPREZA - Ok i'm going to surprise you here, i think this is an ugly car. I really do, unless its the latest version, then it looks slightly less ugly. I drove one not too long ago and it was amazing. You know when you drive some cars, you drive fast and soon ur going so fast your hands tremble and you slow down. But in this, there is no fear, you feel like you could go on forever. Admittedly, this car doesn't turn as easily as it should, its not really nimble but its still great. Thats why this car is here instead of the EVO..people know you're coming, the deep bass from the engine is astonishing. I strongly believe, if i had the cash, i would buy a wrx, its not that cheap but its value for money

1) HONDA CRX(del sol) - HAHAHA okok this is my car so it has to be my fav, its here cause my dad bought it for me. Stats are humble, 1.6 litres, 4 cyliners but its still a dohc vtec engine. It may not be very powerful, or very fast but i just love the sound of a vtec engine. I have a great interest in cars which can squeeze out lots of horsepower without resorting to turbo-charging/super-charging. Its not really a sports car its just a top down funster, i can take the roof down (manually) and just cruise around. Have had so many great moments with this car. I don't think i even want to sell it after finishing my studies in perth
Had my film review today, there were 3 judges and an audience of around 60 people. When i saw the first film, i knew I was in trouble, it was really good. Haha. Soo when our horror film came up ( it was the last one to be shown ). I was really terrified, to my utter dismay..people started laughing, primarily cause of the ridiculous dialogue and stiff acting. Haha..oh well, at least the judges said the techniques for the horror shots were nice and the montage at the end was artistic.

Had lunch nearby with my classmates today, and two super flashy cars, a supra and an integra with impressive body kits, fire paint and huge spoilers pulled in. Sighz..took a look at my car, err..abit buai song..haha. Oh wellz, the temptation to do something to my car is always there, but i'm holding back for now anywayz.

Reached home, realised i didn't have any toilet paper left, plus i really needed to go. Argh got pissed off, drove to the nearest convenience store to get some. Met rach and zan there, what a coincidence. Had a shower, proceeded to sleep, got awoken by the guys in my house, who started playing music and playing bball in the house. I need to move out.

four more days to miata test drive..and to see my lovely cats!!

HEAD OR HEART, WHICH IS BETTER.
I know i know, this is such an old topic but i thot i'd just give my views on it.

Firstly, I'd like to discuss what happens when you love with your heart. When you love with your heart, you often get hurt. Sometimes you know deep down inside that it isn't possible, this person is not right for you (thats your head) but you pursue hard for what you long for. You will be blind, walking in the dark, feeling for something, hoping to find it. For me, it is sometimes very impractical to solely use your heart. You do not see the person for what he/she really is. Probability of finding true happiness using your heart soley is slim ( in my opinion )

Secondly, what happens when you love with your head. You look for an ideal person, who fits a pre-meditated perspective of what would be best for you. You might not love the person as much as using your heart, but you will not spend countless nights feeling insecure, because you re-assure yourself you've made the right choice. Still true happiness evades you ( in my opinion ), by using your head solely, you block out multiple emotions that invoke long term attachments, your relationship is one of convenience, rather than happiness.

To conclude, I know that using your head is important. I do it most of the time, I try to calculate the probability of my success with the person. If its good I may open up my heart. If its not, then i will leave it be and wonder what it might have been. I know i will never know for sure whether i could have succeeded or not. BUT...some ppl will tell you, just give it a shot, try and see, or u'll never know. IT IS NOT THAT SIMPLE...When you try, test or whatever. Your actions will set in motion a chain of events, most of the time, these changes are irreversable. If your attempt ends in failure, you will never be able to reverse the events to what it once was, there you go....you've spoilt it.

The situation becomes weird. You start regretting, cause you might have just lost a friend dear to you. Love is a gamble, there is no ideal amount of thinking you can do with your head and your heart that will absolutely guarentee success. It is not possible.

SUDDENLY, it seems that thinking what it could have been, seems so much more appealing opposed to the rest...

chris

Been really busy lately, just finished my film and television assignment, and my mci 102 unit...now left with two major assignments. Been sick too, never felt so tired these few days. But its ok, soon i'll be back in Singapore. Can't wait to drive the new car.

Certain ppl haven't been politically correct recently, oh well. Guess everyone is entitled their own views, according to Habermas theory of the public sphere. My advice is, when you talk bad about someone, be careful it doesn't get around to them. Harmony is a good thing, don't spoil it.

Hur hur, so strange now my supper and dvd khaki has gone to sydney. But bo pian, anyway got alot of work to catch up on..

Can't wait to see my 3 cats again. Miss them so much, the way they curl up beside me and fall asleep. I swear it really lowers blood pressure..haha

Oh well, time to get back to work
